Laser Consumable Return Program
In 1990, Canon became the first company to collect and recycle used copier toner cartridges. With the cooperation of our customers, Canon has collected more than 378,000 tons around the world.
Unlike Canon’s all-in-one cartridges, toner containers are made mainly of plastic material making them suitable for local recycling and local energy recovery in many areas of the country. When local recycling is utilized, the environmental impact associated with the transportation of containers is reduced.
If local recycling or energy recovery is not available in your area, Canon asks that customers ship them to the address below. Both cartridges and containers can be shipped together.
Inkjet Printer Cartridge Recycling Program
In collaboration with FedEx Office, Canon USA is pleased to offer you, our valued customer, a process for returning used inkjet cartridges at no cost. To contribute to the goal of zero landfill waste, Canon offers a collection and recycling program for Canon Genuine Inkjet Printer Cartridges. This program helps prevent used cartridges from going to the landfill, and encourages our customers to be environmentally responsible.
Please call your local FedEx Office Location to confirm participation
If you would prefer to mail your empty inkjet cartridges rather than bring to a FedEx location, please mail them back to:

To support local recycling and energy recovery, Canon has engraved a plastic resin code on each cartridge. Canon large-format ink and plastic ink cartridges are safe for local recycling and local energy recovery facilities.
When Canon plastic ink cartridges cannot be recycled locally or sent to a local energy recovery facility, Canon asks that customers ship them to the address above at their expense. Once received by our facility, Canon assumes the responsibility and cost for recycling to keep Canon large-format ink cartridges from going into landfills.
